Dental Implant FAQ's

Dental Implant FAQ’s

What is a dental implant?

A dental implant is an artificial root to replace a missing tooth. This is made out of a strong titanium alloy. This is placed in the jaw bone where the tooth used to be. An abutment and crown is then attached to this implant to provide a new tooth to function and feel like a natural tooth.

What are the benefits of dental Implants?

These feel and function like natural teeth. These can be used to replace one or multiple teeth. Or they can be used to assist dentures. In this case, it helps keep dentures in place much better than messy denture adhesives. Implants require maintenance but they will never decay like natural teeth can. Implants are a great solution for anyone.

Does the surgery hurt?

No. Often the worst part is already over. It is usually more difficult to extract a tooth then to place an implant back in the jaw. Anesthetic is used to make the procedure more comfortable.

How long do implants last?

While there are no guarantees when it comes to our health, with proper hygiene an implant may last a lifetime. We advise regular dental visits to help ensure that your implant remains healthy.
